Maglatch is an integrated locking system featuring positive latching and electromagnetic locking for “dual locking.” Retracting the exterior or interior lever releases both locks simultaneously, providing easy “no special knowledge” operation and code compliance. Maglatch is designed to create the most durable lock for high-traffic and vandal-prone locations.

We offer products such as: Maglatch and Electrolatch

Maglatch is an integrated locking system featuring positive latching and electromagnetic locking for “dual locking.” Retracting the exterior or interior lever releases both locks simultaneously, providing easy “no special knowledge” operation and code compliance. Maglatch is designed to create the most durable lock for high-traffic and vandal-prone locations.

They can be used in places such as:

      • Apartment building entrances
      • Card access controlled doors
      • Public housing entrances/exits
      • Office building stairwell doors

Electrolatch™ operates as if it were a mechanical lockset. Depress the interior lever to exit. To enter, use the key to release the exterior lever momentarily. An access control system or intercom would energize the solenoid and allow entry by depressing the lever.
The electric release solenoid is within the trim, not the strike plate, for maximum vandal-resistance and durability.
Electrolatch™ patented design created the most rugged and durable lock for high-traffic and vandal-prone locations

Push bars / panic bars & electric strikes

“Push bars” or “Panic bars” were initially created for emergency situations, but have become a regular structural part of buildings across the country. In the event of an emergency, a crowd of people might gather at the doors. The push bar activates quickly and easily, enabling people to exit the building as quickly as possible.

Push bars might be required by law depending on where you are located. But, regardless, a panic bar is an important part of any emergency hardware set-up. At D.C. Intercom we have a specialized technician to install them in combination with the security systems needed for panic bars to be a great way to protect the safety of everyone in your building.

Electric strikes provide remote release of a locked door. This occurs through the releasing of the electric strike lip (sometimes called keeper or gate). They allow the door to be opened without retracting the latch bolt. When the door closes, the beveled latch bolt rides over the lip and falls into the electric strike pocket.
